"Made me worse, had to lie and discharge myself"

I like to listen to music, watch films and tv shows, use my computer it helps with my distress and mental health problems. When they allowed me to do it before I was open and happy to stay on the ward but now they have rules and policies that prevent me from doing things I love so I told the doctors I was well when in fact I was suicidal and discharged myself. I wouldn't have discharged myself if they let do those things.

I am very sorry that you had a negative experience of our services and for any distress this may have caused you. We have contacted the ward and asked them to look into your concerns and how they might be addressed and we will let you know the outcome of this.

In the meantime if you need any further support please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service either by email PALS@slam.nhs.uk or by telephone 0800 731 864 (select option 2)
