"Treatment manners at Dykebar."

About: Dykebar Hospital / Mental Health

(as the patient),

My son visited me and gave me information which make me think that I should get a lawyer to help me. My son seen one of the nurses  who told him that I should see them the following day and when I went to see him this nurse went nuts at me, swore at me and stated can you not see I am busy filling in these bloody forms. I was then ordered to my room where the nurse followed me and told me they were sick of me and my son the way we think we are someone important. I asked the nurse not to speak to me in this manner to which the reply was you tell me nothing it is me that tells you what to do and it is me that fills in your record so keep your mouth shut.  The nurse swore at me.

I give my word that what I say is 100% true and I will take a lie detector test to prove my words are true if need be but that is one nurse that is needing investigated in the manner they spoke not just to me but others.

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Dear Country Boy,

I am really sorry to read this and because of the nature of what you have said, I think it is really important that we look into this further. Would you be able to get in touch with me directly to share a few more details so that we can take this forward with you? My email address is lorna.gray@ggc.scot.nhs.uk.

It goes without saying that we would expect all of our patients to be treated fairly and with respect at all times, and so I would really appreciate your input to look into this.

I hope to hear from you soon,

Best Wishes,

Lorna
