"surgery and hospital stay"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

I was admitted to A+E on 6th February and moved to Ward 34. From the paramedics, through to emergency, surgical and ward staff I was treated incredibly well. I had surgery on 8th February which involved a gamma 3 nail through my hip and femur. I was discharged after two weeks. Despite difficult patients and situations the staff were fantastic, and quick to try and boost morale on my darker days.

My only criticism is that some patients who also required a trauma / orthopaedic ward were clearly suffering from dementia which was detrimental to me and other patients sleeping on several nights, ideally they should have been in a private room but I understand why this may not happen

Thank you for your feedback following your recent admission to The Blackpool Victoria Hospital. I am grateful you have taken the time to share and write about your experience.

I am pleased from what you have indicated that you have had a positive experience but also understand the difficulty you have described as a result of other patients.

I will share your experience with the teams involved and I would like to thank you for taking the time to post your experience. I hope that your recovery continues.

Thank you

Andrew
