"My daughters heart surgery"

About: Birmingham Children's Hospital

In October 2015 I went to my local walk in centre about my 4 year old daughter. I thought it was a typical cough. To be told she had a very loud heart murmur. I was told to go to my doctors to get refereed to a hospital. To which I went to BCH. We went on 5th of feb 2016 to find out she has got serve pulmonary stenosis. Which she needed surgery got. We got the appointment for March 1st 2016. Which I thought was amazing. The surgeon who carried out the operation with their hard working team have done an amazing job. I owe them everything. If it wasn't for the walk in centre and the surgeon to find it my daughter could of had heart failure within a few years. They've gave us other appointments for the clinic to keep a check on things. But all I can say is BCH ward 12 was brilliant couldn't of ask for a better team to look after her. From the bottom of my heart a massive Thank you !!! From Miley and her very proud mommy x

Thank you for sharing your story and such a positive experience of the walk in centre and Birmingham Children's Hospital. It sounds as if you have been through an emotional few months but it is lovely to hear that Miley is doing so well, and that you had such great care during this time. I will share your comments with Ward 12 and all the heart team who I know will be delighted to read it.
