What I liked
My wife had been experiencing disturbed vision for a few days and went to Adkins Opticians in Diss, Wed 15th Oct. They gave a thorough examination and diagnosed a detached retiina. They made an appointment at the N&N Eye Clinic for 2pm that same day.
As we have recently moved from Essex, there were no records for Diana on the N&N Hospital computers. This was soon resolved at the Eye Clinic Reception. At 2.10pm my wife was seen by the Registrar who called a consultant who then explained an operation was needed and he would try and arrange it for 4.30
At 4pm we entered the Nelson Eye Day Unit to be told it had not been possible to set-up the operation for that afternoon, but the consultant would perform the operation at 7.15am the following morning, Thursday. (the consultant was on duty at Cromer Hospital for the remainder of that day) After 50+ minutes in theatre my wife was out being welcomed with a cup of tea and biscuits.
This whole experience was civilised, extremely efficient, so very professional, and wrapped-up in such kindness within surroundings you deserve to be proud of.
My wife has had her first follow up appointment and all is well.
A huge 'THANK YOU' to the consultant & all his colleagues at the Norfolk & Norwich Eye Hospital.
