"Outpatients Receptionist - Heart"

About: Darent Valley Hospital

My sister was taken to A&E from a nursing home in the area with chest pains.

She is 87 years old and has recently moved from St. Leonards on Sea.

The treatment, hospital staff and ward staff were excellent.

However, she has been sent an appointment for an echocardiogram on the 30th March.

There is NO WAY she can ever come out again.

She is very poorly deaf and unable to walk.

I telephoned the receptionist to-day and was given a mouthful of verbal abuse.

If she doesn't like the job she should move over and let someone else do it.

I was merely trying to cancel the appointment.

Dear Ms Jones

We were sorry to read about your experience when you telephoned the hospital recently. We do expect our staff to be courteous and we are sorry that this did not happen on this occasion. We have forwarded your feedback onto the Manager of the department to ensure that nothing like this happens again.

Kind regards

The Communications Team
