"an absolute joke"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

Attended a&e last night not able to breathe properly saw triage where i was told i needed a nebuliser and then a doctor said nothing was needed and made me feel like a child as i kept gagging on the wooden stick the doctor was putting in my mouth which the doctor has dropped on the floor and picked it up and tried to continue using on me

was then left on a trolly in the corridor till 6pm when i was then put into a side room till 8 a doctor came looked in my throat again was very rude and made me feel bad for my gagging reflex and i was then told to go home and not come back unless i was actually ill !?!?!

All the 5 hours i was in the hospital i was never given anything to help with my breathing dispite asking i was inly given a numbing spray to gargle on

and dont get me started with the cleanliness of the place everywhere i went there were wrappers and empty saline tubes all over the floor

next time i need a&e i think ill demand to go somewhere else !!

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments.

I am so sorry to read that your experience of visiting the A&E Department at Stoke Mandeville Hospital is not what we would have hoped for you and I can understand how frustrating this must have been for you.

We are concerned to learn that this was your experience of Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust's services and hope that you may be happy to speak with us in some more detail, so that we can understand what happened more clearly, and explore ways in which we can assist and improve our patient experience in the Trust.

If you are happy to share more detail about your specific experience with us, please contact our dedicated Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on 01296 316042 or email PALS@buckshealthcare.nhs.uk
