I had to have colorectal surgery performed by a brilliant team. After surgery I was taken to the new HDU unit which I understand to be on a trail basis until the end of March. The points I would like to raise is firstly I understand that this is an extra cost to nhs Boston but when a unit enables more hdu care and therefore gives the capacity for more procedures this must surely be a cost saving, also with a dedicated support of specialized nurses the recovery time is much quicker enabling the patients to be moved to a general ward and then to discharge much quicker freeing up the system. My surgeon and their dedicated team are putting everything into this trail and as proof of a system thats working
I can hope that this is seen by everyone who can support this in everyway and if any outside support to this end can be given please advise, very best regards.
