Being a Heart patient ( having had several MI's and associated surgeries) I have had regular stays in the Coronary Care unit, as well as ward B18. My last stay was in August 2015. I was admitted, after resus, to the MAU.......and the following morning, seen by the assessment team, who said that it was warranted for me to be admitted to CCU......Where I spent a day, followed by a further five days in cardiology ward. I was given my own room, which suited just fine, as I would have only kept other patients awake with my snoring! Nevertheless, the stay was nigh on perfect. The ward was cleaned regularly, and I was checked on at regular intervals. Courtesy was shown by all staff. The food Choices and experience has improved over the years. My Partner was quite taken aback by the standards of medicine and care offered by the RBH. He even joked that I was being 'waited on hand and foot, by angels' in a 'Hospital that looks like a big new Hotel.'...............That made me giggle.......But, on a serious note, from the tea people who always left a biscuit or two with my cuppa, The fab nursing teams in resus, MAU, CCU and B18, right through to the fantastic professionalism that was demonstrated by the doctor and staff in the lab......(Angioplasty) I am forever and always grateful........Knowing my cardiac History, I know that I will be using the services of the RBH again in the future.
