"Outpatient appointments"

About: East Surrey Hospital

(as the patient),

I have a lifelong condition and for the past 14 years or so have seen a consultant in general medicine at least 2 times a year to monitor me. I've noticed that the past two appointments instead of being 6 monthly have been an 8 month gap and now my next appointment is 9 months (although the consultant put on the form 6 months).

Can anyone explain what is going on? Surely if my consultant thinks I need to be seen every 6 months then that is what it should be. I wonder if anyone else is having the same experience?

Dear Het44a,

Thank you for your comments. I need to investigate to find out what happened and what can be done to remedy the situation. In order for me to do this I will need more detail from you. Could you please email me: Alison.James@sash.nhs.uk with your details and I will follow it up.

Kind regards,
