"Short Stay Unit"

About: Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital

I was admitted through A&E on Wed 24th Feb 2016 with abdominal pain, and was given a bed in the Short Stay Unit. I had a scan the next day and surgery was arranged for the day after.

I was discharged on Sun 28th Feb 2016.

During my stay I was treated with care and respect. The nursing staff were brilliant, and, athough they were very busy, they still took the time to be friendly and helpful. Especially a wonderful nurse who was with me when I woke up from surgery in Recovery, and the nurse worked on the Short Stay Unit on the Saturday and Sunday too. I know I can't mention their name here, but I wish I could, as they made what could have been a difficult and painful time, into a relaxed and friendly one. The nurse was amazing.

I am very grateful to everyone who made my time at the hospital so easy.

Thank you all so much.

Hi Karen, thank you for your lovely review, it's so nice to hear from patients who've had a good experience. We will soon be asking for nominations for our annual 'patient choice' award as part of the hospital Trust's Our Stars awards for staff. You will be able to nominate the nurse you've mentioned if you wish - keep an eye on our website and local media for more information about that.

Best wishes,

Sarah Mainprize
