Mum was taken in by ambulance a few weeks ago after falling and gashing her head. She had stitches and was due to be released from A&E but started feeling unwell so was kept in overnight. My brother visited her and was told that the hospital were keeing her in against her will for assessment and he was just given a DOLS leaflet. We still have no idea what basis she was kept in on. She was still in two weeks later "being assessed". We have been provided with so little information and after nearly two weeks and despite a number of reminders from my brother they hadn't removed teh stitches. When he insisted the last time they found the skin had grown over thme so poor mum was in agony. We had a meeting with social services today as they want mum to be placed in a cre home. This is all to do with the Mental health Act and/or Mental Capacity Act. We have no idea what is going on and when we asked if we could get some independent help to understand what was going on we were told to call Citizens Advice. Disgusted. All they are interested in is getting mum put in the cheapest care home they can and taking her house and pensions off her.
