What I liked

I am a member of the health care profession and admit to being critical in the past of some aspects of this hospital. However, my mother was admitted to Basildon following an accident and I was very impressed with the qualtity of care received. In the A&E Dept, X-Ray, on Bulphan ward and then at out patients I cannot fault the level of care and attention that she received.

What could be improved

Very difficult I know; but there was a very long wait between admission and then being seen by the very professional and personable Doctor.

Anything else?

Please do not take any notice of the press coverage. Reports state that Basildon is 'dirty', but believe me, in the course of my work I visit many A&E departments around Essex and if I was unfortunate enough to be in an accident and need to be taken to hospital in an emergency I would choose Basildon above Broomfield, Queens and Southend.
