"Positive Steps"

About: Avon And Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust

(as the patient),

I am a patient who is very concerned at the amount of time it takes to get an appointment with Positive Steps,

My G.P reffered me and it took 9 weeks for the initial assesment,then once i had seen them another 2 weeks for a phone call to say when a therapist would see me which now i am on a waiting list which will be 6-9 months.

I do not think this is acceptable .

I am sorry to hear that you had a long wait to get an appointment with Positive Steps and I hope that since your posting you feel that waiting times have now improved which will benefit other people who are referred in the future.

My name is Andy Johnston and I am the clinical director for Adult mental health services provided by Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. When I read your posting I contacted the manager of Positive Steps and we have been working hard to improve the wait times to this service.
