"Dehydration worries after a long wait- Royal Bolton"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

(as the patient),

There was a lot of kindness and consideration shown toward my dad at the Royal Bolton. He had an obstruction to the throat and stayed at ward F5.

The only problem we had was dad is 87 and had something in his throat. It was a warm day, he had nothing to drink from 10.am and was being sick. We had to wait from 3.45pm to gone 6pm to be assessed. He was not put on a drip until 10.30pm and that was after asking at least three times. We were concerned he was dehydrated.

Other than this he was looked after very well.

Thank you to everyone who was helpful.

While we are pleased that on the whole your father was well looked after, your remarks regarding him being dehydrated are of concern. If you would like to discuss this further please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Office on 01204 390193
