What I liked

I found the staff of the Day Case centre to be extremely helpful. I'm 34 and this was my first operation (gallbladder removal) and they guided me through it efficiently and compassionately, especially considering that the Day Case ward would appear to be a fast-moving environment with a high patient turnover. I was in for over 24 hours and only had to press a button to summon a nurse twice - I think that's a good indication of the standard of care. In terms of the actual operation, the anaesthetic team were fantastic, as were the entire team under the Consultant. I felt cared for and like a human being at all times.

What could be improved

I could have done with a little more information on my recovery period, but that's nothing I can't get off the internet anyway!
