"suspected posterior tongue tie"

I was experiencing breastfeeding issues with my newborn feeding constantly but falling asleep on the breast and only sleeping for very short periods... Pain when feeding, nipple damage at first I put this down to just being a newborn and feeding not yet established. Then she developed reflux.

I had joined a breastfeeding online group and someone suggested checking her upper lip, I discovered upper lip tie. Through continued research I read that they tend to be associated with tongue tie. I knew she didn't have an anterior tongue tie but again through more research and observing her I felt certain she had a posterior tongue tie.

My gp agreed to refer me to infant feeding specialist to check. The midwife checked said she couldn't really feel anything and that was it. Then baby hadnt reached her expected weight so I took her back I was told there may have been something but it wasn't worth cutting.

I wanted the Dr to refer me to a different clinic as problems with feeding persisted but Dr has said the midwife has suggested having a third look. I have admittedly given up with breastfeeding and my supply I'm certain is near gone. Now I'm concerned If they say they will cut it will harm my baby and that it will be unlikely my supply will be adequate. ( baby now 10 weeks) Any advice please?
