Had the worst experience of my life here. Health care in labour ward was hit and miss. First midwife failed to spot op position of baby over 7 hours. Probably because they were never in the room. Senior midwife spotted it. And the team that took over were in the most part efficient and supportive in the many interventions. One midwife and student midwife team in particular were incredible. I don't even know how to describe the postnatal ward. Like a developing country? I was transferred quickly as labour ward was full. My notes stated I needed a shower and had a catheter in. My husband left to get some sleep at 11am. When he returned with my parents at evening visiting. I had blood all over my legs and sheets still, a catheter that was ready to burst and had not been helped to shower or brush my teeth. In fact I didn't shower until the next day. My husband had to help me and my mum changed my bed. A support worker told me I needed to get up. I had no knickers on, a catheter and a drip in and blood all over. I felt humiliated. Care continued much like this. Midwives in the night were the most helpful.
