"Treatment explained better"

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

I have today been discharged from hospital and have previously sent in a review.

I am a reasonably intelligent person but found it difficult to understand the consultant's explanation of my condition and treatment.

Being ill with a life threatening condition is stressful enough without trying to work out what all the medical terms mean..

Each time I had to request a simpler explanation which was given by a young doctor from the team. This was greatly appreciated as the doctor was so kind and understanding.

Also perhaps better communication between change over staff as I was told to expect certain things to happen before being discharged and then today had to ask when they were going to take place.

Caring and kind staff on the whole with a few outstanding for their understanding of patients needs.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback.

I'm sorry we didn't get it right with our communication but I'm pleased to read that the junior doctor was able to help you.

I'd be really grateful if you could provide me with a few more details so I can go back to the team looking after you and we can learn and improve for the future. My email address is claire.marshall@fhft.nhs.uk

Thanks for raising your concerns

Kind Regards

Claire Marshall
