"Gastroenterology"

I am really disappointed with the gastroenterology clinic. I have been a patient of the gastroenterology clinic for some time now after suffering with pain for in excess of 2 years and no closer to a diagnosis. I have had to wait 6 months for an appointment with the consultant this afternoon and was even contacted at home a week prior to the appointment to confirm I would attend. However, some 4 hours before my appointment I was contacted to say it was cancelled. This was not due to sickness or short staffing but because the doctor decided to close the clinic early. I'm now added onto a waiting list for another appointment!! Having to wait 6 months for an appointment is ridiculous enough let alone cancelling it on the day and then having to join another waiting list! I fully appreciate the pressures the nhs and its staff are under but I've lost faith that st helier will ever find out what's wrong with me.
