"there are good points as the work ..."

About: Southampton General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

there are good points as the work gets done, help does get given, ect

What could be improved

nurses could treat other patients(elderly)incoherant or not with a bit more respect and dignanty as some nurses are dame right rude, nurses listen to what patients want instead of insisting things and at all time treat patients with care and not force!

Anything else?

The food on f1 is horriffic that needs improving badly, the fact that health and safty stops patients from haveing toast on wards is not only pathetic it is more lazyness on who evers behalf.

Response from Southampton General Hospital

Thank you for leaving these comments, Sharon.

We place great important on patient privacy and dignity and have passed your feedback on to the senior nurse for the F1 ward area.

As you may know we have recently rolled out a new catering service at Southampton General. The new service offers our patients an extensive, tastier and more flexible menu choice; unfortunately, as you note, toast is not included due to difficulties satisfying all fire safety regulations. However, there are limited opportunities within some parts of the hospital to serve toast. We really welcome all feedback about this new service and have made the manager of the catering service aware of your feedback.

Please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison team on pals@suht.swest.nhs.uk or 023 8079 8498 if you would like us to respond in more detail.
