"booking and appointment for an outpatients colonoscopy"

About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I was discharge from hospital and told if I din't get my appointment within 10 days to ring in and get one.

So I rang the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust administration. I was left hanging on the phone for 49 minutes and when I eventually got to speak to someone I was horrified in what he said.

After saying I was calling to make an appointment, he looked me up and said I was on the to do pile and that if I wanted I could OPT OUT OF THE PROCEEDURE.

In which I replied that I need it.

He answered then I would have to wait and it would be when they got round to it.

I know the NHS are stretched but I didn't think an administrator was qualified to say to a patient whether they needed an appoinment or not or defently that the could OPT OUT of having one.
