"Top Class Care"

About: Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

I was admitted to Tameside Hospital on the evening of September 2nd 2015.

I had suffered an out of hospital cardiac arrest. I spent four days in the Critical Care Unit in an induced coma and then almost three weeks on the Acute Cardiac Ward before being transferred to another hospital to have an ICD inserted.

My wife, a former nurse, tells me that the treatment and care in the Unit was first class. She cannot speak highly enough of the work they did for me and for her during that time.

Once I was awake I was moved to the Acute Ward. I found this ward to be very well organised. Its routines and procedures were clear and calm. The staff at all levels worked together as a team and showed great respect for the patients and each other.

The quality of food was excellent. Meals were served efficiently and cheerfully. There was no overlap between meal times and medical treatment which I found in the other hospital.

I would be very happy to speak publicly about the excellence of this hospital, act as ambassador for the hospital.
