"Superb care of my husband"

About: Penrith Hospital Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust

(as a relative),

My husband had a suspected heart attack on the 21st of December 2009, and the nurses at Penrith couldn’t have been nicer. Not only did they take superb care of my husband, they also found time to talk to me about what was going to happen, where he was being taken to what time visiting was in Carlisle, even making me a cup of coffee and finding phone numbers for me so that I could ring at any time.

The paramedics that drove my husband to Carlisle were superb, the weather was awful (blizzard) but they made him feel safe and secure. We can’t thank them enough and thanks to them my husband is making a good recovery.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments regarding the care and attention both you and your husband received whilst he was being treated at Penrith Hospital.

It is extremely gratifying to receive comments such as yours and it is a tribute to the caring concern and skill of the individual members of staff who work both on and off the ward, and I know they will appreciate them.

I have also forwarded your comments on to the General Manager of Penrith Hospital so that they can be shared with the staff.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to write to us.
