"Giving credit where it is due."

About: Calderdale Royal Hospital

I attended for surgery on Friday 19th returning home yesterday 20th. I have nothing but praise for the care and attention I received during my brief stay. The Theatre team worked hard at all times to reassure me and keep me informed of procedures. After Recovery I arrived at Ward 4C about 2pm having fasted from 8pm the previous night. I thought tea and toast might have been offered but luckily my husband brought a snack when he visited. A meal was offered at 6pm The nursing staff worked hard to control my pain. The night passed slowly, aggravated by a door banging in the wind and a confused elderly lady shouting. Praise goes to Senior nursing staff for their tact and respect both to their patients and their team. (Note - patients can overhear you discussing their case and those of others particularly at night).

It is reassuring that we have access to such wonderful healthcare in Calderdale in view of the negative comments we read in the press.
