"Contact with nurses"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

Why does a nurse say they have made several attempts to contact patient by phone, yet the patient's home phone, which is the only phone number available to the nurse, has a log of all incoming calls that shows only one missed call from an unknown number, presumable the nurse.

If no-one picks up the phone the answer machine picks up the call so why doesn't the nurse leave a message, if only to say they have rung?

This clearly did not happen?

Why not leave a message for the patient to ring the nurse back?
