I am so disappointed with the maternity department at Princess Anne Hospital. My daughter had a horrendous experience and I am appalled that this hospital is at third world level. The department is short staffed and this led to staff being rude, unhelpful and uncaring. When you are unable to move because of a spinal and a difficult birth, you should expect a healthcare assistant to be willing to change your baby for you. Not to get a sour response.
The receptionists are rude and unhelpful. Some nurses are rude and jobs worth, I genuinely think one in particular has become complacent and seems to be anti visitors. We felt so unwelcome. The whole negative experience has marred my daughter giving birth to a beautiful baby. This should have been a positive and happy experience. Thank goodness for Ashurst Hospital for being so different and lovely.
Parking is a nightmare at Princess Anne, the spaces are so tight. You may not be able to get out of your car or worse still not be able to get back in it! Suggestion 1: allow partners to stay and help with routine stuff, such as changing and getting drinks for patients. Suggestion 2: employ more staff rather than having two rude receptionists (one is enough) Suggestion 3 for expectant mums: don't go there unless you really have to and if you do then speak up for yourself and speak to someone in authority. Suggestion 4: save up and go private!
"Awful experince"
