All the staff on CCU2, the Catheter Lab and Belgrave Ward were very kind, efficient and friendly, and I was very well looked after. Everything about my treatment was explained to me. It's about 20 years since I've been an in-patient (never been in St George's before) and I noticed a great improvement - the adjustable bed was really comfortable, there was a good choice of menu and the food was very tasty, and a bedside machine with free phone calls was a bonus.
I have just a few suggestions. What about providing (say) Dettol wet-wipes in the loos so patients can cleanse the seats (I made do with a paper hand-towel and liquid soap). The keypads for phone and TV on the bedside machine were rather grimy - do they ever get cleaned? I was a bit concerned to see that doctors on their rounds shake hands with patients; I realise this is a friendly gesture, designed to put patients at ease, but I didn't notice them washing their hands or using the gel before moving on to the next patient. These are just minor details, not complaints, and I would like to say again how well I was looked after and what excellent staff you have.
