I experienced loads of difficulties to have appointments in the short term as a self funding patient. In some cases the only available appointments for simple consultations where in more than 1 month. This is not what I expect from a private hospital after paying for a service instead of going through the NHS.
The hospital is very money oriented and you can feel it in the treatment and service provided to the patient. When you feel sick this is the last thing you want to feel that money is before health.
Finally, Spire hospital team only manage the facilities and the material. The services are managed by the doctors specialists independently by their teams. The lack of coordination between them is showing and generating confusion and constraints for the patient. For example, I booked an appointment with Spire Hospital for a consultation with a doctor, I was waiting 1 month for it and finally they changed it on the day of the appointment without informing me before. Spire hospital stated they cannot know when the doctor changed the appointment therefore they cannot inform me so they do not feel responsible for that but they are the ones I booked the appointment with and the ones managing the hospital.
"Poor management, low availability of service."
