I broke my ankle and had an operation for a pin and plate and stayed in hospital for 3 days.
I have nothing but praise for the staff.
All went well, I didn't have to wait more than 10 mins for the ambulance, or to see the doctor in A&E.
Everybody was respectful.
My operation was delayed by one day but it was a success with a pin and plate.
I was seen and waited for an hour in the Outpatients Dept twice.
I saw a physiotherapist locally who was encouraging.
When I got home it was a challenge mentally as I'm over 60, but I read blogs of how to cope and this was good for me.
It gave me hope that I might walk and run.
I still am aware of the operation site as it is stiff and larger than the other ankle, but so pleased with the outcome. I do a fitness video to strengthen muscles now, I've been to the USA for a holiday.
Thank goodness for the NHS and thanks to everyone.
"Excellent Hospital for my operation for broken..."
