"Treatment good, follow up poor"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

Taken to A&E by paramedics who were brilliant. Was assessed by a doctor and consultant in A&E. Told I would be referred to the appropriate department and letters would be received by post and was sent home. Nothing materialised so I checked with A&E. They said come to Ward 2 tomorrow at 10.30am where I underwent the same procedure that I did in A&E. What a waste of doctors time and cost to the NHS. I am now waiting for appointments that the Ward 2 doctor has referred me to.

I keep records of all my visits and when nothing is received I check (costly phone calls) to get anywhere.

The follow up system needs to be reviewed. People who don't check will never get an appointment. This has happened to my husband as well and we have had to chase it.
