"Hospital beds at County Hospital"

About: County Hospital (Stafford) / General surgery Nuffield Health, North Staffordshire Hospital

(as the patient),

Attended for day surgery for urethral surgery returned from surgery and the catheter pulled out from my bladder. Had to be sent to North Staffs Hospital to admissions unit, even though I am physically disabled with no thought to how I can return home. Luckily, the staff were brilliant and ward sister helped me get home.

Why are there no hospital beds at county hospital for urology patients?

Response from University Hospitals of North Midlands

Dear 'wizarw19465w'

Thank you for leaving feedback on your experience at University Hospitals of North Midlands.

We are pleased that the staff were brilliant and you were helped home.

In regards to your question, as part of the TSA reccomendations for County Hospital, in order to make maximum use of both the Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent sites, some services moved from Stafford to Stoke and some new services were developed on the Stafford site. This included acute and major inpatient surgery moving from Stafford to Stoke-on-Trent in spring 2015. More information can be found at www.uhnm.nhs.uk

Thank you and best wishes
