About: University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust

My elderly mother attended the emergency department and was given excellent, prompt treatment delivered with outstanding care and compassion, and provided with transport to take her home within four hours of arriving. Due to distance I could not be with her, and was concerned about interrupting busy staff by phoning for updates. However, everyone, from the switchboard staff, to the A&E nurses and consultant, could not have been kinder and more helpful, in fact the consultant even took the time to call me at one stage. A big thank you to all involved on what was undoubtedly a very busy Saturday evening.
