"Hospital Feedback"

About: Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Having been offered an appointment for ENT for 6 weeks time I was gobsmacked to hear that my uncle who lives in Cheshire has just been offered an appointment at Altrincham Hospital with a 10 day wait.

Apparently, Warrington NHS Trust buy in services from other Trusts.

In other words an appointment that should have been offered to a Trafford resident has been offered to someone from outside the area.

Madness!

(I have a copy of the letter from this trust)

Thank you for your feedback. It is important to us and we see it as an opportunity for the service to make changes and improvements wherever possible.

The Operational Manager for Medicine at Trafford General Hospital, with responsibility for Altrincham Hospital, has explained that Trafford General Hospital allocates appointments dependent upon each individual patient’s clinical need, not the location from which they are referred. However due to the public nature of this website, we are unable to comment on your individual case without further information.

If you are concerned regarding the delay in your referral to the ENT Department and wish to provide us with further information or discuss your case further, please do not hesitate to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@cmft.nhs.uk
