"Avoid diabetic dept"

About: The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust

Why oh why do some health professionals choose to specialise in diabetes when they clearly hold nothing but contempt for those with type 2? And believe me certain ones make no attempt to hide their views.

We cannot avoid seeing in the media about how we're a drain on the NHS, how it's self-inflicted etc. However, I don't expect to attend appointments to be repeatedly told how much a month my meds cost (6+ times) , how they (i.e. the NHS I pay into) can't afford it , a gory run down of all the complications and how I will die etc. Yes I am aware of amputations etc.

What would be helpful would be working together, receiving help and support with weight loss, dieting for both weight loss and sugar control etc. I have never met such arrogance before. No discussion regarding meds. Its a shame I feel so unhappy about this department as some of the nurses there are lovely. The bad nurse and doctor will be well aware who they are.

If you want to be treated with respect avoid!
