my baby of 10 months had came out in a rash which I knew was not just his normal eczema. I have had enough problems with my own GP and the hospital misdiagnosing him with all different problems (lactose intolerant when he isn't, allergic to penicillin when he isn't so I thought before heading off to the hospital I would give the walk in the benefit of doubt. I soon regretted it when the nurse was telling me I needed help to cope and it was just eczema (before taking his obs and all the nurse did after I mentioned it was check his temp) The nurse was certain it was just plain old normal eczema when I knew it wasn't. The nurse asked me my age which as a young mum I was offended by, and started showing me every different rash in a book,, shows they work out of books mind but the nurse tried to put me down. Well anyway i took him to the second hospital and it turns out his eczema was infected because he had hand foot and mouth disease and he was on antibiotics to clear the infection of his eczema and has had to be wrapped in wet bandages and gone back to have them changed. He is still in the bandages today too. One of the nurses I saw at dermotology on 16/1/15 told me babies with eczema who have hand foot and mouth should not be left untreated. I am appalled at the way I was treated by the nurse making me feel like a stupid young girl, but I knew something wasn't right and I will certainly be complaining about it because its not right.
"Nurse was very unsupportive!"
