"Some staff were very caring. After ..."

About: Barnet Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Some staff were very caring. After I complained about the ward I was admitted too, I was moved to another.

What could be improved

I was admitted to a ward of mad geriatrics who shouted and screamed all night (I was age 60). Later a nurse tried to forcibly yank out the drain tube from my wound against my wishes. Another nurse put on sterile gloves to dress my wound, then picked up the bag containing the drains from the floor (it had been on the toilet floor when I went there too). Then she took off my wound dressings (no change of gloves).

Anything else?

Update January 2010:

Despite having attended the day surgery unit on 3 days of the last week, I still have not had my surgery. A member of staff promised to phone me to re-book my operation, but I have heard nothing. When I phone I just get a telephone answering machine.
