"Allergic reaction"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

Our grandson who was staying with us overnight developed an allergic reaction to something which resulted in his hands and feet being covered in hives. As he also suffers from asthma and eczema we though it wise to take him to the out of hours at the QE

Within minutes he was seen and assessed and then a lovely junior doctor saw to him. The doctor was extremely professional and caring in their manner dealing with a three year old and did their best to put him at his ease. All in all things settled down and he was discharged with a strong antihistamine for the next couple of days.

Thanks for taking the time to feed back your comments about the hospital. We're pleased to hear that your experience was such a positive one. We hope your grandson is feeling better and we'll pass on your comments to the department he visited.
