Today I had a diabetic hypo in St. Helens. I was taken to Whiston Hospital where I had tests, one of which was a blood test. The doctor had to use a disposable glove as a tourniquet. Why are the NHS still lacking equipment when I hear the government are supposed to be spending millions on our healthcare providers? As a thank you to the NHS, I would like to suggest that disposable tourniquets are used as I believe there is a risk of transmitting infection from patient to patient using the current ones. Thank you to the youngsters in St. Helens, the North West ambulance service and the staff at Whiston for being so caring.
"Provision of decent equipment"
