"Very poor experience with cataract surgery"

About: Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road Campus)

After my 77 year old mother was farmed off to the Whitfield hospital for her cataract surgery, thinking it was going to be done at Moorfields and the surgery not going as expected, we have had nothing but disappointment after disappointment.

The opthamologists have all the charm of rattle snakes and seem to forget that they are dealing with elderly people. The mistakes and non- communication are too great to list and I already feel I should not be wasting my time writing this review.

However, if I could deter one person from having their cataract surgery performed here, then i will feel my time has been well spent.

I was sorry to hear that your Mother's experience of cataract surgery was not all that it should have been. We would be happy to look into the circumstances around this and if you would like us to do so please contact our patient advice and liaison service (PALS) via pals@moorfields.nhs.uk or 0207566 2324/ 25 who will be able to look further into this in more detail.
