I'm a 21 year old student and today I visited the clinic to have a lump investigated after having been referred by my GP.
I have never felt the need to write any sort of negative review about a place before but I have to say, I had a really unpleasant experience at the clinic today. Sadly, I do not feel as if I was treated with respect or dignity during my examination. Although the nurse was lovely, at one point the doctor was leaning against my open legs/ knee with their hand while they were talking to me - as if I was a piece of furniture.
I was shocked and upset by this.
I had to have 3 examinations in total, and one the second and third I noticed that the curtains were left partially ajar which made me feel uncomfortable. On the third examination, I was seen by a lovely consultant who was attentive and kind but I noticed that 1st doctor was peering through the curtains during my examination. Considering the uncompromising position, I felt extremely anxious.
It was a great relief to learn the lump was nothing to worry about, but I left the hospital today feeling somewhat abused.
"Unpleasant experience"
