"Jenny Lind"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

I had my 6 month old granddaughter to stay with me a couple of weeks ago without her parents and she developed a high temperature and had a horrid cough.

I was very concerned and took her to the GP who referred us to the Jenny Lind Child Assessment Unit.

From the moment we arrived we received outstanding service and care. There was no waiting atall, we were seen first by a doctor and immediately afterwards the consultant paediatrician examined her.

They could not have taken more trouble or inspired me with more confidence, I was a very stressed granny!

After some deliberation the doctors agreed that the baby should have an antibiotic and could go home.

However it was made clear to me that if I were concerned I could telephone the hospital at any time and return there with the baby if I thought it necessary.

It was extremely reassuring and I deeply appreciated all the trouble taken by all the medical and clerical staff.

Dear Ms Lyon

Thank you for your feedback.

We appreciate how stressful it is for families when their children are unwell and have to attend hospital so it is especially rewarding to hear that your visit was such a positive one.

Best wishes

Emma Dolman
