I attended the Emergency Department after a visit to a walk in clinic. I had a suspected twisted or torsion testical. This was a time critical situation. From the start the staff were more than accommodating and helpful. The receptionist was very nice, discreet and smiled. The waiting room was quite busy as always with lots of people waiting before my arrival. I was very quickly Triaged by a practitioner who wasted no time in doing some necessary checks but also having a good old look at my swollen plums. They did this with as much dignity as the situation would allow but still had to get a whiteness, I guess to protect both of us.
I stood to attention, dropped my pants and pulled the old fella to the side and presented my swollen nut with as much pride as I could muster. I'm sure they have seen it all before.... The practitioner got on the phone to the urologist straight away and within 20 min I was in the hands of a specialist. They gave my plums a good old poke and prod and luckily diagnosed something less severe than a torsion. The specialist was extremely polite and their mannerism gave me full confidence. They talked me through what was going on with me and what needed to be done going forward. I was then discharged with some advice, pills and a follow up scan. On a more serious note, our NHS is the best thing we have ever invented. My plums are getting better.
"Very happy with the service."
