"Consultant led unit and MLU"

Thank you to the staff on the consultant led unit at PRH. One word 'amazing'! Could not do anymore if they tried! I had a variety of both fully pledged midwives and students. I have never in my life felt so well looked after and had the most amazing birth experience. I then Transferred to MLU for breastfeeding support the day after, majority of staff were lovely especially one of the 'support worker types'. However this is where my lovely story ends as i came across a lactation nurse on the night shift who could not have made me feel anymore of a failure if they tried. I was told i was wasting their time as i was struggling and was following advice given to me with my first child (this was MLU that gave me this advice two years prior and i didnt realise i would be penalised for it!)

I felt like i had to 'hide' behind my curtain all night and pushed me into a bit of a depression at such a sensative time. The following day the next shift arrived and were perfect again. It just shows how one small team can tarnish the most amazing experience of my life. I will not judge on one practitioner so well done PRH! :) would reccomend others to have their babies here!
