"pharmacy waiting times are a joke"

About: East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust

I was told I had a 30 minute wait for my 1 year old's prescription which is bad enough but an hour and a half later I'm still waiting only to be told that they had called his number out twice and his name, no they hadn't they were trying to make me look stupid I'd been sat there waiting patiently. I witnessed an elderly lady complaining about her 45 minute wait, when she left the staff thought it was highly amusing and couldn't stop laughing. Not a very professional caring department. I don't want to be sat in that confined room with no air full of sick people coughing their germs over me. I would also like a response from someone to this complaint

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Pharmacy Department at East Lancashire Hospitals Trust and thank-you for taking the time to do so.

I am really sorry for your experience and that you had to wait an hour and a half for your son’s prescription medication.

I am also sorry that you witnessed staff laughing about another ladies wait for medication, as this is not the standard of care we expect of staff working within the Trust.

I have forwarded your comments on to the Pharmacy Department but in order for us to investigate further I would appreciate some more information.
