"She went out of her way to make sure mom and dad had a really good day that day"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Elderly medicine

(as a relative),

While visiting dad in hospital, it was moms birthday and we was ment to go out for her birthday but because dad was in hospital we couldn't, while visiting dad we meet a health care assistant called Sarah who was very kind and caring for dad and mom, always making sure mom was ok eating and drinking even though she wasn't a patient, when she found out it was moms birthday she made a card with our dad for her and when the family came in she done us a little party with cake biscuits sandwiches and cups of tea which I thought was very kind she went out of her way to make sure mom and dad had a really good day that day.

Thank you for sharing you story and highlighting how special Sarah made your mom feel. I hope your dad has recovered and you are all able to share family time at home. I am pleased you felt the care and attention that your parents received was in keeping with the standard of care you would expect from our hospital, and that our staff have gone that extra mile to see that you had a good day.
