"excellent care at whipps cross.."

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

Whilst having to visit a seriously ill relative doctors and especially nurses on cedar ward gave excellent care to my relative and us as a family was looked after respected the level of care and professionalism is top rating. Its hard enough visiting a poorly relative but the hospital looked after us all as a family can not thank whipps cross enough your staff are credit to nhs and us all. But only thing that id say let the hospital down was stay away from main entrance volunteer who seemed very unstable and almost assaulted me then would not give me their name to complain about them apart from this moment of omg did that just really happen. This part left me scared and very intimidating from a member of staff to be cms from my face shouting at me was far from what id ever expect but evenlow this was horrendous the doctors and nurses at whipps cross should not be tarred with the same brush. They gave outstanding care respect and as I say you could not ask for a better level of care.excellent!!!

Thank you for taking time to share yours and your relative’s experience of the care and treatment that was given on Cedar Ward. It is great to hear that you were also looked after by our staff during your visit to your relative. Your comments will be passed over to the team on the ward for them all to see.

Barts Health has a very committed volunteering force of over 600 people across the Trust who regularly give up their time to support visitors and patients. In Whipps Cross last year alone volunteers supported over 8,000 visitors per month to safely reach their destination. Volunteers are trained and supported to provide this service .

It is really very unfortunate to hear that you have had a bad experience with a volunteer at Whipps Cross. I would be really interested to find out more about what happened as we rarely receive complaints and any feedback critical or positive can only help us to improve and shape the voluntary service ensuring that any issues are dealt with swiftly and that visitors and patients receive compassionate and sensitive support during their time at our hospitals. If you wish to discuss further, please contact Nancy Whiskin, Head of Volunteering by email: bartsvolunteers@bartshealth.nhs.uk

Kind regards

Barts Health NHS Trust
