What I liked
I'm afraid to say I did not have a positive experience at Mayday Hospital. I was referred to a consultant after having a ultrasound done at the same hospital. Once i got to the hospital for the appointment, after a few routine questions by the consultant, it came out that there was no record of the ultrasound in my file. It took about 40 minutes for the exam in question to be found (and this only after i did tell them the exact day and time of the ultrasound exam). By the way, after all this, it took less than two minutes for the consultant to give me his views on my condition. I left feeling that the appointment had been a complete waste of my time and nowhere closer to resolve my health problem.
What could be improved
Whilst the 'missing' paper should not have happened in the first place, I found the way the consultant dealt with it very poor. They told me - and I quote - that 'i had not had an ultrasound exam at the hospital because there was no record in my computer file'. I found this both patronising and upsetting - they simply told me rather than thinking that there might be another explanation.
Anything else?
In the end between the referral, the appointment being arranged and me seeing the consultant I feel I have I have wasted weeks and am no closer to resolving my health problem.
