"The doctor I saw was abrupt and ..."

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) (London)

(as the patient),

What I liked

The doctor I saw was abrupt and dismissive, didn't listen to anything I said and did not want to know about any symtoms or medical history. He would not answer any questions and got cross about being asked questions. He had decided before the appointment that based on a clear MRI that nothing was wrong. He prescribed medication that is contraindicated and should never be prescribed for my conditions. A truly humilating 10 minutes of my life wasted in this appointment.

What could be improved

He should have conducted himself in a professional manner and followed the NICE guidelines and not relied solely on a scan, he should have taken account of symtoms and medical history, and balance problems and vertigo should have been investigagted fully by an ear specialist if they were nothing to do with MS. Further investigations to rule out other types of illness including MS should have been carried out.

Anything else?

I have spent months isolated at home unable to work with no treatment or guidance from anyone at St Georges or Moorfield eye unit. My eye condition has been confirmed at four separate times, I was told my questions and further investigations would be dealt with by the Neurologist. They were not.
