"staff are friendly & helpful meals ..."

About: Dorset County Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

staff are friendly & helpful

meals are good ,especially when you are getting them for free!!

pain control could be better ,especially as i have fibromyalgia and had a op on my brain, i take 1800mg daily pain relief - So, paracetamol just does not kill the pain!!

What could be improved

on the mixed wards - toilet & wash facilties do get dirty but report it & it gets cleaned!

the central staff station maybe good in theory ( forgot which one! ) but staff can often be overheard discussing patients - not just about their medical problems either!!

Anything else?

i have spent the last 3 years going in & out of dorchester hospital, in A&E, cardio, vascular, emu ward, and many other wards too and found the staff all fantastic and i cannot see why people moan, i get put on any ward that they have a bed space because they havent got a neuro ward and although sometimes there has been alot of discussion about how to treat me, the doctors have always listened!

the nurses are doing a 'thankless job' and im surprised most still nurse, ive seen patients expecting something for nothing and for what the staff do, we should all thank them!! please thank the paramedics too!overall, a unwanted situation made better by such professional people.

thankyou dawn
